The Toronto Lithographing Co. Limited published a series of postcards featuring Canadian Sports in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This series bears a strong resemblance to a similar series issued by J.C. WIlson & Co. prior to Toronto Litho’s series.

While most of the proofs show the final graphics used on the published cards, the “ROWING & YACHTING” card varies from the proof, which was designated “SCULLING & YACHTING”. The change from “SCULLING” to “ROWING” seems to have occurred at the last moment, and the “N” in “ROWING” has been printed in reverse.
